Rocky View Wheatland Local Immigration Partnership
I am Tiffany Carlson; I am the Co-coordinator for Rocky View Wheatland Local Immigration Partnership (RVWLIP).
In my role I work with indirect services through a systems approach for Chestermere and Strathmore areas. I help the communities be more inclusive to all cultures and backgrounds. I am able to work with municipalities, school boards, non-profits, and businesses. I also run four committees which are: Chestermere/Strathmore Committee (for non-profits), Strathmore & Area Business Connector, Newcomer Council, and The Partnership Council.
In my unique role, I can help provide resources to non-profits or businesses for newcomers. I can build capacity on ethnocultural unique needs and challenges. I can provide Metis Awareness Training or other cultural awareness training. I can help expand non-profits programming to make them more inclusive. I can connect newcomers with our Settlement worker/SWIS worker. I can connect newcomers who are on a work visa with our Temporary Foreign Worker staff. Depending on what the challenge is, I am able to navigate solutions with you if it is regarding newcomers.
I look forward to connecting further with you all. Thank you for this opportunity.
