Chestermere Region Food Bank

Mardi Oel has been with the Chestermere Food Bank since its inception in 2006. What began as a basic food bank has grown over the years to include several important community services. About 10 years ago, Meals on Wheels was introduced, offering healthy, ready-made meals from Calgary Meals on Wheels collected and delivered to clients in Chestermere.

In 2020, during the pandemic, the Good Food Box program was added when the City asked the Food Bank to help provide several services that were previously offered through City Hall while it was largely closed.

The Food Bank now offers 8 other programs as indicated on the brochure handed out as well as on their website. They also distribute donated household items and clothing as well as bicycles refurbished and donated by the Rotary Club of Chestermere.
