So many Chestermere neighbours showed up to the Chestermere Regional Food Bank Drive. The number only matched by all of the gracious volunteers. Donations of food and cash and people of good will and generosity converged. The community came together.
Happy volunteers from the Chestermere Food Bank, the Punjabi Bazurg Society, the Men's Shed, the Chestermere Fire Department, and the Rotary Club of Chestermere showed up. Special thanks to Mayor Shannon Dean for participating. Donation lists were handed out the front door. Hot dogs from the bbq and beverages from the cooler were distributed. Under the tent, friendly conversations were had. The donation bin was filled five times and then loaded into the van. Cash donations filled the box. Kids, teens, couples, and families all brought food to the bin with smile.
It would be impossible to have been there and not left with a big smile and love for neighbours.
